Putara Base Camp

At the foot of the Tararua Ranges you will find Putara Base Camp which used to be the Putara School. The backpackers can sleep up to 10 people. Kitchen facilities with all utensils supplied. Linen is available at extra cost. Nearby are bushwalks, excellent swimming holes with a two minute walk to the river, not to mention fantastic hunting and fishing opportunities. This location is ideal for anyone heading up to the DoC camps in the ranges or just wanting a peaceful stay in some stunning country side.
