This is an amazing recreation reserve at the eastern end of the Manawatu Gorge, just off State Highway 3. A popular place for locals as well as visitors, it's a fantastic area for a picnic, a swim, fishing or camping in your self-contained motorhome. There are picnic tables and toilets provided. It's easy to spend the whole day here with the family. The Manawatu Gorge walks start from just over the Ballance Bridge on the road above, there is also a small playground nearby just over the bridge. |
